We are delighted to welcome Lynn Armstrong to the volunteer team. Lynn is based in West Lothian and will be joining us as one of our Housing Buddies. Lynn has already started getting stuck in to the role and is already working with the brokers to support clients to fill out applications for social housing. Here’s what Lynn had to say about herself, and joining the HOS team:

“Access to housing is a basic human right and I believe that everyone who needs it should have access to good quality, affordable housing which suits their needs. I am excited to be part of Housing Options Scotland and to assist with the great work they do to support people getting the housing they need and look forward to helping where I can.

I have worked in Social Housing for over 14 years. I started off in GHA, now the Wheatley Group, as a clerical officer and joined Queens Cross Housing Association in 2011. Over the years I have worked as an Allocations Assistant, Housing Assistant and a Housing Officer. I also completed a secondment working within Wheatley’s Housing Options for Older People project which supported Glasgow’s HSCP to reduce hospital delayed discharge and care admissions. I am currently a Tenancy Sustainment Officer and have been in this post for 3 years. This year I completed my postgraduate diploma in Housing Studies.”

We are looking forward to working with Lynn and are excited to see her use her extensive knowledge and experience to support our clients. To find out more about the Housing Buddies volunteer programme, contact Ben Parker: ben@housingoptionsscotland.org.uk.
